Vampire Diaries takes dig at Twilight

I'm not sure if you watch Vampire Diaries at all but I do and was surprised to find a Twilight reference so early in the series. If you don't watch you should because, well, you really should read the books and then watch the show to truly evaluate if you like it. You also should watch because it's almost always going to be discussed in the Vampire literary and now media world when surrounding Twilight. Comparisons will be made and you'll want to be able to understand and keep up with the conversation.

You also might want to watch because you get TWO vampire's vying for the heroine's heart. TWO! FOR THE PRICE OF ONE! Two vampire brothers, one good, one bad so you can choose your poison. The nice guy like Edward, or the broody mean one like, um, James?

So anyways, Episode 4 has a clip from taking a dig at Twilight, saying the books get it wrong and real Vamps don't sparkle. To be fair, this IS the bad brother speaking. The Clip has been taken down all over the net and I'm sure it will be back up soon, but its interesting that the VDiaries are so against BEING like Twilight, yet allowed Twilight talk onto the show within 4 episodes. Wonder how high the ratings must be for that kind of stunt?
