Twilight Movie showing before New Moon: Some potential Problems

Just an observation over the past few weeks. Shannon and I, while preparing for the New Moon midnight opening, have been discussing whether or not to see Twilight that will be showing at 9pm before New Moon. Should we? Should we not?

Or am I?

You see most people wait about 6 hours + if not longer, in line to get good seats. Last year we waited 4 hours and we were already way behind the others that had been there since the morning. Good line position equals good seat position in the theater. So if a theater shows 6 screens worth of a movie, that means 1500 people are waiting in line at one theater to see one movie. And all jockeying for good seats.

The theater laughingly tells me that nobody will be waiting in line or camping out. "We are a small town ma'am, nobody will camp out".

So showing Twilight before creates a big wrench in this plan. If you go see Twilight, you lose your place in line, meaning 1500 people have better seat positions than you

UNLESS

They don't clear out the theater after Twilight. Which means one unlucky group of people will enter a theater, after waiting for 6 hours (if not longer) to find that their theater was already full. After waiting. That long. For nothing.

I surely don't want to wait that long for nothing! I"m not sitting out there to find out my seats have already been filled, so I placed a call to the theater we'll be watching it in.

So after a lovely call to the Fayetteville Ga Cinemark, I still have no answers, other than "our managers have been doing this longer than you've been watching Twilight movies". Nice. Good Customer service for one of the very movies helping keep you in business. Tell me Fayetteville Ga Cinemark, have you had any other movie you've showed on 6 SCREENS at once this year? Any other movie guaranteeing you 1500 people+ in attendance in one night? Harry Potter didn't even open this big for you. Sorry we Twilight Fans create such problems, what with our throwing money at you left and right. Must be hard to scramble so fast to catch those dollar bills in the wind, since there are thousands of them to try and catch at once. Oh how we fans create so many problems with our pocketbooks.

Sorry if I don't trust 18 year old managers to make the best decisions, particularly after it turns out that NOBODY had even considered this before I called. Not one person had given thought to this problem, and it seems that they were just going to "clean the theater and let you sit back down".

"So how are you going to ensure that the people who sit down have tickets for New Moon"

"We just will"

"But you have a theater sold out already, so if 300 people watch Twilight in that room, and if you have 300 people outside waiting to watch in that same room, tell me how the math adds up"

"it just will"

AWESOME! Look Fayetteville Ga Cinemark, I know you think I'm creating problems what with my tricky questions and all but I'm honestly just trying to save everyone some trouble.

So you might all want to call your local theaters to get the answer to this question before opening night.
